Projects Hit By A Lack Of Supplies

The Construction Leadership council has informed that timber, steel, cement, some electrical components and paint are all in short supply. It has said that this may be due to unprecedented levels of demand that are set to continue. This could have a knock on effect on projects and could result in multiple delays or some construction firms closing as a result.

After lockdown was eased, construction industry projects have escalated which has put a major strain on supply as demand for already scarce materials has accelerated. Another reason supply may be low is due to the conditions for other materials. More specifically, warmer winter affecting timber production in Scandinavia and cold winter weather in Texas affecting the production of chemicals, plastics and polymer.
